Matching the power to your space If you’ve just got a tiny powder room—you know, those little half-baths under 4m²—a 250W or 400W lamp is plenty. It hits you with immediate warmth without turning the room into a sauna. For a medium-sized bathroom (somewhere between 4m² and 8m²), you’ll want to step up to 600W or 800W. In these rooms, heat has more space to wander off. If you go too low here, the heater will just run non-stop, which wears out the filament way faster than it should. Then you have the big master baths. For anything over 8m², you’re looking at 1000W or more. But a pro tip? Instead of one giant 1200W beast, try two 600W lamps spread apart.
