Basically, that “IPX4” label just means the guts of the heater are sealed up tight. You can install them in areas where a regular heater would probably just pop a breaker or, worse, short out completely.

Ever notice how some heaters take forever to actually make you feel warm? That’s because they’re trying to heat up all the air in the room first. These infrared units work differently. Getting Them to “Talk” to Your Smart Home
If you want to control these with your phone or voice, you’ll need a solid relay or a smart controller. Imagine this: you tell your house to trigger “Winter Mode,” and your system sends a quick signal to a high-power switch. That switch closes the circuit, and the lamps kick in immediately. We usually stick with Zigbee or Matter hubs for this. Why? Because nobody wants to walk into a freezing bathroom and wait ten seconds for the “smart” tech to figure out it should be heating the room. It needs to happen now.
A Few Things to Watch Out For
Here’s the catch: these heaters pull a lot of power. If you’re planning to put these in every room, please check your circuit load. If you plug three or four 2000W heaters into one line, you’re going to trip your mains. You’ll likely need to spread the load across different phases or maybe get your wiring upgraded to handle the extra amps. Also, because the IPX4 seal keeps water out, it also keeps some heat in. Just make sure you leave a bit of breathing room around the unit during installation so the outer shell doesn’t get too hot.
