
Stop Fighting Your Oven’s Heat
If you’ve ever dealt with industrial bread sterilization, you know the headache of traditional heating coils. They’re just too stubborn. Even after your controller tells them to shut off, they keep bleeding heat into the chamber. That “extra” heat is what ruins your product. It causes those annoying temperature overshoots that turn a perfect crust into a burnt mess. That’s why we use short-wave infrared lamps. They don’t hold onto heat the way coils do. It’s all about speed. Because these lamps use a thin tungsten filament wrapped in quartz, there isn’t much mass to warm up. They hit the target temperature in seconds. And the moment you cut the power? They stop. Just like that. Instead of wasting time heating up the air in the oven, the energy goes straight to the surface of the bread. It gives you a tight grip on the temperature, so you can sterilize the core without torching the outside. A few things to keep in mind on the hardware side. We use high-purity quartz glass to make sure the IR light actually gets through. Depending on how big your oven is, we’ll tweak the wattage and voltage to make sure you’re getting the right amount of heat in the right spots. But a word of warning: these lamps are power-hungry. If your power supply is shaky, you’re going to see flickering or, worse, your filaments will burn out way too early. Also, since the heat is so intense and localized, you can’t skim on the reflectors. Get those wrong, and you might actually warp your oven housing. Not ideal. Making it work in your shop. We designed these to be drop-in replacements. We use standard connectors, so if a tube burns out, you can just swap it for a new one. You don’t have to tear down your entire heating bank just to fix one part. Once you move away from those heavy coils, you stop fighting that annoying thermal lag. You finally get to control the actual temperature of the bread, not just the air around it.
